We were recently inspired by a Buzzfeed article (don’t judge us, we’re all prone to reading lightly delivered news with a spritz of Gen Y humour). The article, through a series of interactive sliders, showed what some of the world’s most beloved websites looked like 10 years ago. And though it’s easy to snicker at the web design of yore, with the terrible graphics, over-use of Times New Roman and .GIFs, it really makes you wonder what the future will think of our single page design, WordPress templates.
Here at Newgroup, we pour all of our creative energy into our work, making sure it is the best we can do, and that it transcends fashion for as long as possible (see our creations here). Staying on top of web design trends is our job, but we know that every few years, the winds of change sweep through and websites have to be overhauled. And though it means our creations will one day become redundant, we rest assured knowing there is always a new creative challenge ahead.
So yeah, web design is still a big deal in 2015. And though everyone and their cat has a “.org” site crafted like a digital shrine, those of us in the business know it well enough to see that in the long haul, big businesses are always going to reaching for something new online. And with unlimited real estate, the world wide web still has infinite potential for renovation and makeovers.
Signing off,
D
