This month we drew creative inspiration from the wonderful women that raised us, the food that nurtured our growth and the beautiful city that we call home. In May we’re embracing creativity in all it’s forms; we’re injecting some adventure into our everyday life, trying different foods, taking up a new hobby or sport, trying our hardest and appreciating other people (thanks mum!) and all the little things that make us all unique.
Mother’s Day
No one could be a greater inspiration to us than our Mums – they raise us, provide for us and continually support us. In commemoration of the wonderful women that helped shape the people we are today, we’re sharing with you some of our favourite photos and memories.
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea
We’ve put our creativity to the test this month with a challenge for everyone to produce something for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea! Contributing to a worthy cause in a fun way is something that we can all get behind – especially when food is involved. We came up with caramel cake, anzac biscuits, crackers and dip, masala chai, but our favourite plate was the pancakes made by Aaron!
Vivid Festival
Vivid is one of Australia’s largest celebrations of creativity devoted to light, music and ideas, with thousands of Australians and international guests flocking to the heart of Sydney to witness the spectacular performances, displays and exhibitions, and to be a part of something bigger. Make sure you check out the various Vivid events, on show from 23rd May to 9th June – we definitely will be! Keep the blood pumping
Working somewhere as vibrant and energetic as Bondi, we can’t help but love enjoy the sun, sand and surf every day. Tori, our newest member here at Newgroup, has been doing hot yoga for 8 weeks now and is loving it! At the yoga hut, rooms are heated up to 29 degrees, which is definitely more enjoyable during winter than summer. Focusing on being at peace with oneself is the goal of yoga and is achieved through setting an affirmation and goal, different breathing techniques, challenges to balance and flexibility, as well as engaging different muscle groups for an intense workout. It’s a fun and challenging environment and definitely a good outlet for creativity… or it will be once I learn how to master Crow Pose…
