This winter weather has certainly made it a little harder to get out of bed in the morning, but there’s always a silver lining! Here’s what we love about winter. Perhaps it’ll give you some inspiration to celebrate the chill. Let us know about your winter loves, too!
Julie loves the feeling of snuggling into a soft doona with endless mugs of hot tea.
Getting into bed and diving into a warm blanket is the best feeling. It’s my favourite way to beat the cold weather, and in fact winter just makes it all the more cosy. Along with that are hot drinks! I love tea any time of the year but now is the perfect time to wrap your hands around a warm mug and keep toasty from the inside out. They’re simple little rituals that you don’t often think too much of, but they make a difference.
Kim loves cold, crisp air.
Truth be told, there’s not much I love about winter. I miss the beach and the sun, but there’s something about getting up in the mornings and breathing in that fresh air. It smells clean and clears my head. And there’s a certain novelty to watching your breath curl on those particularly frosty mornings. Heading out for a run or brisk walk is that little bit more refreshing and satisfying. I’m lucky I have an energetic little dog to make it easy to get out of bed and out into nature.
Ramesh loves layers. Jackets, vests, hoods – you name it.
Lately I’ve been wearing heaps of thick jackets and puffy vests to beat the chill. Vests are great because they keep me unbelievably warm but still give me room for movement in my arms. I prefer the sportier kinds of coats and jackets that make moving about in the winter much more bearable. I’m always out and about doing different things, so just that one extra layer means I can get keep going about my day no matter what the weather throws at me.
